Desiring & STANDING

In this collection, I began my first encounter with femininity, that is, the female figure. My inspiration was my mother’s body, a body far from today’s fashion stereotypes. A plump, tired, and forgotten body, but the beginning of my encounter with myself. The fish head, a symbol of birth, was placed on all the female figures in my paintings.

In these paintings, however, the fish head is not a sign of birth; for my women, it brings the gift of death.

The element of line plays an important role in expressing the disorder and confusion of my feminine feelings and emotions in these works. Lines that are powerful and at the same time filled with violence. Energetic lines to show the turmoil within the woman inside me.
